Color Coding Emails Based on SenderTo configure messages from a particular person to appear in your inbox in a different color, you can use a conditional formatting rule. You can set this up by following the steps below. From Outlook follow these steps:. Click on the View tab. Then click View Settings. In the Advanced View Settings dialog box, click Conditional Formatting. In the Conditional Formatting dialog add a new rule by clicking Add.
A new rule will be created with default name of Untitled. Enter the desired name for the rule and click Font. On the Font Screen, click the down arrow next to the color and choose the desired color the email should display in and click OK.
Back on the Conditional Formatting dialog box, click Condition. In the filter dialog box click From. From the Select Names dialog box, Find and highlight the name of the person whose email should appear in color selected above and double click on it.
The person’s name should now appear in the From field on the bottom. Click OK. Back in the Filter dialog box make sure the correct person is displayed in the From field and click OK.
Back on the Conditional Formatting dialog box click OK. Click OK again from the Advanced View settings dialog box. All emails received from the person selected above should now appear in the color that was selected in the dialog boxes above.
